Pillow Care Guide
Congratulations on the purchase of your Crestell® pillow.
With a little bit of love and care, your Crestell® pillow will last for a long time and stay fresh and comfortable for many nights to come.
Depending on the age and condition of your pillow, up to 50% of its weight may be comprised of sloughed skin, mould, mildew, fungus, dust mites and dust mite faeces. Washing or otherwise cleaning and airing your pillows frequently helps keep them fresh, healthy and prolongs their useful life.
General tips in caring for your pillow:
- Double case your pillows. This will better resist the accumulation of microscopic dust mites, mould, mildew and other bacteria, as well as sweat, body oils and drool.
- Change your pillow cases often. At least once each week to stop the build up of body oils and bacteria.Clean your pillows at least every 6 months.
- Synthetic fibre pillows can generally be machine washed using a mild detergent. Soap is harder to remove, and can leave a residue.Feather pillows can generally be hand washed or dry cleaned.
- Foam pillows may deteriorate as a result of washing so always defer to the manufacturer's care instructions. Always dry your pillows COMPLETELY after washing. If a pillow doesn't dry completely before being put in its case, it can breed mould or mildew and be ruined.
Always defer to the manufacturer's care instructions.
